Because of almost daily rain in the end of May, our new set of 1000 lines of UniformMu were finally planted on June 4, 2004. One week later, torrential rains pounded us (over 9 inches in three days). Our crop remained high and dry (well, …wet maybe), and seems to have weathered the storms. The field behind ours was not so lucky. We expect the crop to catch up and be ready for walk-throughs for vegetative phenotyping between the first and second weeks of July. We anticipate a pollination commencing the end of July and through the first week of August. We will provide progress reports via photographs almost weekly.
